From the lively and historic streets of Old Delhi to the majestic Taj Mahal and the colonial relics of Mumbai, this 14 day journey is a great introduction to India. After each days authentic experience of India, retire each night to some of the most amazing hotels in the world. Our Deluxe hotels feature a number of former maharahja’s palaces, including Udaipur’s wonderful Taj Lake Palace.

Rajasthan is situated in the north-western part of India, referred to as the Desert Jewel of India. A vibrant, exotic state where tradition and royal glory meet in a riot of colors against the vast backdrop of sand and desert. The magic of Rajasthan is unequalled in the world for its heritage, culture, safaris, sand dunes and lush green forests with its wildlife.

Day 1 - Delhi

On arrival into Delhi you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a 2-night stay.

Day 2 - Delhi

A full day city tour today will introduce you to Delhi, including an exhilarating bicycle rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk – a hustling & bustling market place and a maze of narrow streets. You will also drive past India Gate, Parliament House, and the President’s House. If time permits, a visit will be made to a Sikh Temple. Dinner at the Bhukara restaurant.

Day 3 - Agra

You will be driven to Agra after breakfast for a 2-night stay in Agra. The rest of the day is free until late afternoon, when you will be taken to experience the ethereal beauty of the Taj Mahal (symbol of love) at sunset.

Day 4 - Agra

The magnificent Taj Mahal really warrants a second visit, to appreciate its beauty, and to see it in a different light. This will be included in a morning sightseeing tour of Agra. A visit will also be made to the Red Fort [also known as Agra Fort] – The original red sandstone fort was built by Akbar in 1565. Shahjahan added the marble palaces inside. Inside the fort is a famous pure marble mosque, the Moti Masjid. Explore the colourful local bazaar, and also see the intricate work of marble inlaid with fine gemstones which is unique to Agra.

Day 5 - Jaipur

Drive to Jaipur, stopping en route to explore Fatehpur Sikri – the deserted red sandstone city built by Emperor Akbar as his capital in the late 16^th Century. Later drive on to the magnificent Pink City of Jaipur, where you will spend 2 nights.

Day 6 - Jaipur

Enjoy an Elephant ride or jeep ride up to the Amber Fort this morning, and also visit the Palace, Kali Temple and Jai Mahal. An afternoon City tour of Jaipur will include visiting The City Palace, Place of Winds, and Jai Singh's Observatory.

Day 7 - Jaipur

Free day to relax, go shopping, or further explore this magical city.

Day 8 - Jodhpur

This morning drive to Jodhpur situated on the edge of the great Thar Desert. Rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 9 - Jodhpur

You will be taken on a half-day city tour of Jodhpur in the morning, visiting the Jaswant Thada – a white marble cenotaph, built in 1899 in memory of the Maharadja Jaswant Singh, Mehrangarh Fort, and the Royal Palace. Take a jeep safari this afternoon into the desert and tribal areas and the picturesque Bishnoi villages to experience rustic Rajasthani life.

Day 10 - Deogargh

This morning drive on Deogargh. Enjoy the hospitality of the Royal family at the magnificent Deogarh Palace, which is now a heritage hotel. A visit to the village gives you an intimate insight into rural life.

Day 11 - Deogargh

Free day to explore the village – Evening enjoy a small Gala Evening at the Hotel.

Day 12 - Udaipur

Travel into the hills to Udaipur en route visiting the famous Jain Temples at Ranakpur.

Day 13 - Udaipur

This morning you will be taken on a half-day city tour of Udaipur. The City Palace, a marvel of marble and granite overlooking Lake Pichola, is the largest palace in Rajasthan, its exquisite workmanship making it a must on every visitor's itinerary. A visit will also be made to the exquisite Crystal Gallery, followed by tea or coffee at Durbar Hall. A free afternoon in this beautiful city for shopping or further sightseeing, or to just relax at your hotel. Evening enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola.

Day 14

Free morning. You will be transferred to Udaipur airport for your flight Delhi.

You will be met on arrival in Delhi and transferred to the Taj Palace Hotel (no accommodation). Later you will be transferred to the international airport for your flight home.

VARANASI EXTENSION

Day 1 - Delhi

You will be met on arrival in Delhi and transferred to the Taj Palace Hotel.

Day 2 – Varanasi

Transfer to the airport after breakfast for your morning flight to Varanasi. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Take a short cruise on the Ganges this evening to view cremations, and then witness the spiritual Arti closing ceremony on the banks of the Ganges from your boat.

Day 3 – Varanasi

Enjoy an morning boat cruise in the Ganges, the holiest river of the world, to see the sun rise over the river, and witness the ritual bath of sadhus and saints on the Ghats (platforms), Return to your hotel for a leisurely breakfast, an afternoon tour of Sarnath, where Buddha first preached his message of enlightenment, will include visits of Buddhist and Jain temples, plus the Sarnath Archaeological Museum.

Day 4

Free morning, this afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi .
